Our sweet model Dixie was adopted from Perfect Pooches! She was found in a very sad hoarding case, and very lucky to survive and now has a wonderful life with her mom Erin.
Perfect Pooches is a wonderful dog rescue in Illinois, serving Chicagoland, who focuses mainly on finding loving homes for chihuahua and chihuahua mixes -- as they are one of the breeds most found in shelters and euthanized due to people seeing them as toys and objects, not as living beings with feelings and needs, requiring just as much care as any larger dog.
WHY WE LOVE Perfect Pooches: Their mission is near to my heart, as I have rescued two chihuahua mixes and been lucky enough to spend years by their sides - learning the challenges and fear of being so tiny in such a big loud world, and the extra care and deep connection that's possible when we learn how to lean on each other.
